This last week I was feeling depleted and out of inspiration. I’d experienced the perennial challenges with contractors, deadlines, and expectations–mine and those of my clients. I had zipped over to the Merchandise Mart for a few items for a couple of different projects. One of my favorite showrooms is the Nancy Corzine showroom, and I headed there first.
Low and behold, Nancy Corzine was there reviewing the showroom to make some changes. I had met her several times over my career. Other design professionals had been present, so polite small talk was as far as we had gotten.
By myself with Nancy, I had the opportunity to discuss what I needed from her collection, and she made some on-point suggestions. From there we walked the showroom and discussed my thoughts on the showroom and the things I thought would enhance the designer’s experience there and aid us in showing our selections to our clients.
Nancy Corzine is one of my design idols, and she has been since I was introduced to her and her products early in my career. Having the opportunity to get to know her better and discuss design was like a miracle pill. I left after spending an hour with her, feeling recharged and enriched by meeting her–a woman who has great vision, talent, and taste.
